In the UK 1.6 million people rely on heating oil for their energy, this can be due to rural locations and no access to cost effective alternatives. Thousands of fuel oil deliveries take place each day in the UK to domestic and commercial properties, getting it wrong can cause catastrophic environmental damage.

At Evergreen we recognise the damage that could be caused should there be an oil spill or other incident, together with our partner Compass Environmental we have created a protection package to respond should a incident occur.  Our product, Oilshield has been designed in conjunction with one of the UK’s largest insurers, Aviva and brings together our combined market knowledge and desire to help protect the environment. 

Oilshield is a full business protection package for oil distributors, whilst protecting businesses property, liabilities and vehicles we have also build in compulsory risk management & training provided by Compass Environmental as well as a 24/7 spill response and clean up service – therefore limiting the damage caused to the environment in an incident.  Imagine if a tanker carrying fuel oil “rolled” on the motorway spilling oil into roads, rivers or farmland very quickly this can be a major incident.  Compass have the capability to manage the incident and respond, dealing with all aspects of the clean-up involved in such an incident.  Managing Director Stewart Ower BSc (Hons), C.WEM, is a key figure in this sector and also provides spill training to the fire service and has been managing incidents for over 15 years, including a term as chairman at the trade association UK Spill and in his early days working for the Environment Agency.
